once i was on a panel at university of illinois at chicago (UIC), with a good friend, yadira. we were asked about how we felt about same-sex marriage. why did we not discuss it? it was after all, the premier issue of the LGBTQ movement. why did we discuss say homelessness or racism or health care, these were not as we were told, “queer issues.” ahhh...
